In fact the whole nation's aviation system struggled to resume normal operations after a powerful winter storm stymied air traffic throughout the Northeast and bogged down many flights.
"Even if the weather clears, you have crews in one place and planes in another, and they all have to get back on schedule," said Greg Meyer, a spokesman for Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Miami International Airport reported just two inbound delays, two outbound delays, one inbound cancellation and two outbound cancellations. As a result thousands of passengers were marooned in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach over the past two days.
The cause of all this was a fierce winter storm which caused 12 inches of snow to fall in the New York area. Airlines canceled more than 900 flights to and from the Northeast, disrupting passengers nationwide.
